Bedraggled: A Rain-Soaked White Trillium
In early May, after a violent storm, I visit my beloved Shindagin Hollow and come across a rain-soaked Great White Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum), growing on the bank of a forest brook. The scene is lovely, with fern fronds unfolding to one side and the gurgling brook in the background. It is still raining lightly and a Veery thrush is calling and singing nearby.
Although the trillium has been beaten down by the storm, it seems to be rising up to meet the new day, swaying, dancing lightly in the breeze. Pure Nature at its best. An elixir for my weary mind.

Such a gift Lang… Thank You! The imagery of Trillium (my absolute favorite!) and soundscape of rain, creek and Veery is exquisite. I work with people who are living with chronic illness and serious cancers ~ I will be sharing this beauty as a calming, restorative offering.
Love it.
The trillium petals are almost translucent. And the Veery transcendent. Thanks. Ruth
Beautiful, as all your works are! Thank you.
Very lovely, as is everything you do. Thank you. I hope your weary mind found some healing from this elixir.
Yep, it worked!
Beautiful. To deeply observe a thing–a tea cup, a leaf, an insect–without the collection of some form of data in mind is to honor it. Your video certainly honors this trillium, and the ferns, and the rain, and that whole little resilient world.
Seeing/Sensing beauty requires a certain amount of silence, or if the mind is hopelessly active, a gentle surrender coupled with watchful eyes and ears.
Enjoy the sounds in this video. Are you okay? Ive been thinking a lot about you. I called you and never got a call back. I hope you are okay. Your friend, Annette
I’m okay and already looking forward to spring!
Love it Lang…..peaceful yet very much alive! Joy
Totally alive … and totally peaceful!
The image added to the sound is the frosting on nature’s cake. Thank you!
Beautiful Moment in the springtime rainfall!
Sweet… Thanks for sharing the moment. love discovering small worlds on walks in the forest.
The small worlds at one’s feet are often the most moving, once you tune into what’s going on down there!
