Why do I need your help?

The answer is quite simple. Even though I produce world-class nature recordings and related videos, it has become increasingly difficult to convert my resources into a stable and reasonable income. A decade ago, I could make a living writing books (accompanied by compact discs) about the sounds of nature. Money could also be made selling digital downloads, such as MP3s. But the times have changed. Writing books is far less profitable these days and MP3 sales have dropped off considerably.

What has become easier is my ability to share my best recordings and other media online … via my website, social media, soundcloud and the like. These avenues of delivery are generally provided free of charge, which is what I prefer. I do not want to put up a gate where people have to pay to enjoy my content.

And therein lies the problem. I want to shower the “Music of Nature” on as many people as possible, thereby maximizing the impact of my recordings and other media, and providing people with a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of the modern day world. Nature therapy at its best … available absolutely for free!

So … how then will I be able to make a living so that I can continue with my giving? Well, what makes complete sense to me is to be supported by those who consume, enjoy and are moved by my content. This is classic “crowdfunding,” an approach to financing that is gaining momentum these days. Let there be no “middlemen” standing between me and my audience. And let my “patrons” voluntarily donate to me directly, rather than pay a corporate entity (such as a publisher) where only a small proportion of the amount paid eventually trickles down to me.

That’s it in a nutshell. I hope this makes sense and that you are willing to offer me some support. If you do, I promise to keep up my end of the bargain, which is: to share my recordings, videos, photos and stories with as many people as possible, so that they have maximum effect on the world at large.

Thank you for your help!
